Introduction

Mia Umanos is what we call a game changer, she has done a lot of great things throughout her career. She’s the kind of person you want to sit with for an hour or two with a pen and note pad, you can learn a lot from a person like Mia.

I proud myself at being quite good as a marketer, but I’m pretty much a smurf compared to that wonderful queen. We could have asked Mia to talk about her accomplishments and we would have had enough for a multiple page article! That’s how impressive she is.

Where are you from?

I'm originally from Chicago, Illinois. I grew an analytics career inside digital marketing agencies right here in agency row. In that time, I found that my degree in journalism helped me communicate complex analytics ideas to marketers. I rose up to Director fairly quickly and taught each person under me that data storytelling skill.

Tell us about you (background info)?

I am the co-founder of Clickvoyant, a marketing analysis SaaS that makes insights from raw marketing data out of Facebook Ads and the Google Marketing Cloud.

My dad has his own small business, when I was growing up, as did my co-founder's. Both of their companies folded in the digital age because they couldn't keep up. Similarly, 9M businesses feel like they won't survive the digitization spurred by the pandemic. At the same time, I made $20M USD for my fortune 500 client just on Google Analytics Insights. I can't help thinking about what it would have been like if all small and mid-cap companies could have enterprise-style analytics on their side. In that same time, marketing technologies ballooned from 150 to 8000 today.

The Gartner numbers indicate that 85% of data projects fail. This is in part because there aren’t enough people to analyze all that data; making them expensive and hard to hire. This means Amazon may have an army of analysts, but the Click and Mortar Gift shop down the street has zero. SMBs are getting boxed out of data talent.

Why are you starting this business?

The insights I generate find dollars in the details. Could more businesses survive if they had a data analyst by their side? I'm sure of it. Everyone wants to make data-driven decisions, but only the richest companies can afford it. That is the problem we're solving Clickvoyant. We cloned our training and data storytelling into an AI that generates insight presentations just as a human would.

Please provide us with some information about your business. (description, business model, etc.)

We democratize insights by performing the tech part behind the software. Our users just connect their data using their own credentials. Then, Clickvoyant goes to work automating a process that would normally take weeks to complete. New customers get their first insights after just 15 minutes of work. These presentations take about 50 human hours to produce. With our product businesses save time AND money on that process. But how much is an insight really worth? In april our ecommerce clients found an average of 12 insights worth $3 Million Dollars. Our Lead Generation clients found an average of 10 insights worth 2 million.

Our traction includes: • $10 thousand dollars in Monthly Recurring Revenue and
• And 150 websites to our platform

What stage are you in right now?

We’re scaling by targeting small marketing agencies under 100 employees. They close fastest, drive our bulk sales, and are also feeling the data talent squeeze. There are 50 thousand global agencies, and almost all of them are small. Targeting them will help us establish a foundation to go after the 3 Million small business website owners with either e-commerce or advertising spend. We have a few SaaS tiers, but I'm most proud that we released our full product to businesses under $400,000 in annual revenue for $49/month. That's crazy savings for these types of insights.

What are you looking for at this stage for your business?

We're currently bootstrapped and are starting to network with Angels to prepare for that round later this year. We're also actively looking for partners at data aggregation companies like Supermetrics or Domo to partner with to build out our data analysis offerings.
